Shop Pocket was founded in San Diego, CA in the summer of 2020. The online store, focused on vintage beach styles, aims to reduce waste and make the world a more fashionable place by giving a second life to pre-loved clothing. Vintage and secondhand clothing is good for the environment because it reduces the demand for fast fashion and the overproduction of goods. The fashion industry is a major contributor to pollution and creates massive amounts of waste. When you purchase pre-owned clothing and goods, you lower your carbon footprint and put money back into small businesses or non-profits.

In addition to the positive environmental impact, vintage clothing will always be in style. Fashion Is cyclical as trends come and go and come back again, and vintage pieces are unique. Classic silhouettes are plentiful in second-hand stores and will always be staples. The nostalgia of eras gone by entices us to own a part of it for ourselves. Older pieces were made with better quality materials and craftsmanship, making them a worthwhile purchase even today.
